This article explains how to add a new Rate Type.
Required packages and permissions
Supported in: Lumary DC
Permission: System administrator
To add a rate type:
- Search for Reference Data from the App Launcher or click on the Reference Data tab on your navigation bar.
- Click on the New button. This will launch the New Reference Data form.
- Scroll down the pop-up window and click on the Rate Type radio button to select it.
- Click on the Next button.
This will launch a New Reference Data: Rate Type form. The following table explains the purpose of the fields. Mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk.

| * Name | This is the name for your new rate type. The name should reflect the funding source or rate type description. |
| *Funding Type |
Select the appropriate funding type from the drop down menu:

| Automatic Rollover | If this checkbox is ticked, the system will automatically apply the latest version of rates with this rate type when service delivered (SD) records are created. |
| Aged Care | Not Applicable. |
| No Funding Limit | This should be selected when the service agreement has no limit to funding. In some state-based funding programs there are no limits to specific agreements/programs, services are delivered and funding is applied for, the amount of funding/reimbursement depends on the number of claims received. |
| Not Available for Cart | If checked, clients will not be able to pay for services delivered using this rate type. |
| Funding Organisation | This field allows the user to specify who is the funding organisation for this rate type. This field is a lookup to Accounts, therefore the account must exist prior to linking to the rate type. If the account does not exist, save the rate type and navigate to accounts and create the funding organisation, then update against the rate type. |
| Contract Number | Captures the contract number for a rate type. |
| Client Allocation Required | When this box is checked, and block grant is also checked the Service Agreement with this rate type will display the individual funding allocation for a funded client. |
| Block Grant | When checked, this rate type is enabled for grants that are not individualised / service agreements with many clients. |
| Bypass Quote Generation | When this box is checked it bypasses the quote feature on a service agreement. |
| GL Code | This is the general ledger code used when extracting data from Salesforce. |

This is the cost centre for this rate type |
| Invoice Grouping |
You can select your invoice grouping to:

| Include in Extract | Specifies the Extracts in which Service Delivered records with this rate type will appear. There may be other criteria that will determine if a record appears an extract. |
