Before you begin...
If you need to link to an existing behaviour of concern record or medication record, you'll need the id number for that record.
To add routine restrictive practice information to a client's record for NDIS reporting:
- Go to the client's record.
- Click on the Support Needs tab. You might need to use the More drop-down list at the end of the row of tabs to find this option.
- Click on the Health & Wellbeing tab.
- Scroll down to the Restrictive Practices section.
Alternatively, you can add a restrictive practice from the record for a behaviour of concern.
- On the Restrictive Practices list, click on the New button.
- This will open a New Restrictive Practice popup. Click on the Routine radio button.
- Click on the Next button.
This will launch a New Restrictive Practice: Routine form. The following table explains the sections and fields on this form. Mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk.
| Field | Use and purpose |
|---|---|
| Details | |
| * Client | Use the search field to find and add the client's name. |
| Restrictive Practice Type | Select the type of restrictive practice that will be used. Make sure you select the correct type, as this cannot be changed once the record has been created. |
| Authorisation Status | Set the current status of authorisation. |
| Description | Free text field to capture a description of the practice. |
| Instructions | Free text field to add any additional instructions. |
| Routine Restrictive Practices | |
| Schedule Status | Use the drop-down list to indicate whether the practice is Active or Inactive. |
| Schedule Start Date / Time |
Select the date and time the practice will commence. |
| Schedule End Date / Time | Select the date and time the practice will end. |
| Behaviour of Concern | |
| * Behaviour of Concern |
If there's an existing behaviour of concern (BOC) record, search for it and select it. You'll need the number of the relevant BOC record. To create a new behaviour of concern record, click in the field and select + New Behaviour of Concern. |
| Personal Support Plan | Search for and link to Personal Support Plan records on your system. |
| Medication | Search for and link to medication records on your system. |
- Once you've completed all of the fields required by your organisation's policies, click on the Save button.
This will create a new routine restrictive practice (RP) record. From that record, users will be able to record exceptions and variations.
